After having to reschedule our January meeting date due to snow, we were able to come together with teams from eight lower mainland districts on February 26 2020.
Our focus this year has been experiencing mathematics in the outdoors, with each district taking on more context and interest specific projects related to this focus. For this meeting, each district team shared what they have been working together on so far. This is always a highlight of our cross-district meetings!

As part of the meeting, we honoured the centenary of Loris Malaguzzi's birth. Small groups of educators chose Malaguzzi quotes to discuss and make connections to our project.
As part of our meeting, we debriefed the mini-conference from October, planned how to create and curate resources from our project to share on the new provincial platform ShareEdBC, and district teams checked-in around their district-based projects and where to go to next.
Sarah Schnare (SD36) an Sharon Baatz (SD38) shared an abbreviated version of their presentations on Outdoor Learning and Math from our BCAMT mini-conference in October. Their collaboration exemplifies the collaborative practice that has been such a significant aspect of this project our province.
At the time of our meeting, we had just found out our BC study group to Reggio Emilia was likely going to be postponed. Little did we know that in just over two weeks from our meeting that everything would change in the educational landscape in BC as we moved into new ways of teaching and learning through a global pandemic.
We are looking forward to connecting virtually on May 6!
