summer institute 2017 - event information

Building on the feedback from our pop-up spring institute in the forest in April, we will be hosting a morning at Jericho Beach on Saturday, June 10th from 10am - noon. Lauren MacLean, Louesa Bryne and I will be facilitating a morning of math experiences at the beach. You are welcome to bring your children along. Please bring a notebook or sketchbook with you.

We will meet near the east parking lot and concession stand near the grassy area with picnic benches at 10am. There is pay parking in the east lot but there is also lots of street parking in the area.

We will move westward along the beach, engaging in different guided experiences and brainstorming ideas together.

There are lots of options for lunch in the area, including the concession stand at the beach.

The BC Reggio-Inspired Mathematics project began in 2013 as a professional inquiry into how Reggio-Inspired principles and practices could enhance the teaching and learning of mathematics. It has grown from one BC district to four to six to ten and now there are educators across BC and Canada and the world who contribute to this project.
