District teams came together on May 17 at Grauer Elementary in Richmond to share the work we have been doing this year. Always inspiring, district shared projects they had focused on.
During our professional learning time together, we discussed coding experiences and their connection to spatial reasoning, an ongoing focus for our project. These great coding cards were found on an educator's blog:
Sandra Ball and I also introduced the new BC Numeracy Network site that can be found HERE
It was lots of links and resources to support teachers as they work with the new BC curriculum.
Marie Thom and I shared The Studio space with our guests and discussed some of the math projects that have been inspired by the materials and learning environment that has been created.
After dinner together, we discussed and clarified the criteria for formatting, content, etc for our next publishing project together that we have all been working on this year - Encounters with Measurement. We are hoping this publication will be out early this summer.
As always we thank our districts (Richmond, Delta, Burnaby, Vancouver, Surrey, West Vancouver, Coquitlam, Langley, Chilliwack and Maple Ridge) and the BCAMT for their continued support of this collaborative inquiry project!
