I have been living with my own little word for almost two months now. My lovely JOY pendant arrived from The Vintage Pearl...
I think an awareness of what joy feels like and what it can be is an important part of this word for me. There is joy to be found in small, everyday moments and that is the joy I want to hold on to.
I was fortunate to win a package of vinyl words from Decorating Your Life and will put them to good use this year. I have created "a jar of joy" and am recording small moments that fill my heart full of joy. Included so far is the look on Adam's face when he got his L on January 2, his happiness filled my heart. I printed a small copy of a photo and wrote on the back and put it in the jar. I also have some little journalling cards that I am using to record moments of joy. For example, one day at work I had a group of five year olds outside observing the antics of a squirrel in the park and the glee on their faces made me joyful.
I am trying to be intentional about looking for joy, because it is out there!
