There are pros and cons to early morning Saturday soccer games. Pros are that it is not too warm for those September and October games (Colin likes playing in cool conditions) and that Colin has the rest of the weekend free and open by 10:30am on Saturdays! Cons are that well, it is early on a weekend morning to be out and about and running around. Colin's team played hard on Saturday against a better team from North Van. Colin is quite tenacious out there!
Let's just say he comes by it naturally, yet those who only know us off the playing field/court would be so surprised by that!
I played with a poor, blurred photo using befunky and got some fun results!
I headed out to the airport at noon to welcome my niece back from Australia. She's been there on an exchange for 6 weeks and is only 14! I can't even imagine my boys being away for that long!
Gillian and Hannah popped by Saturday evening to share some of Hannah's latest creations with us. Oh, YUM! The sandwich cookies were a big hit around here and didn't last long.
Sunday brought a visit to the last outdoor market of the year in Steveston...
and then our little friends, Sarah and Jack, came to help pick the rest of our purple potatoes, carrots and quince.
A walk with Sarah, grilled steaks for dinner and then off to Hillcrest in Vancouver for Adam's first league game at the Midget level. A 9:30 start which is a little crazy on a Sunday night!
That's Adam...back to number 11 in blue!
And yes, amongst all the goodness, there was also homework, assignments, laundry, housework, grocery shopping, haircuts and all that mundane stuff that keep things humming along. Tis life.
Hopefully we are now beyond survival mode and are into "managing" for October!
