September has been a rough month.
Early mornings, new schedules, everything starting up. The excitement and the stimulation of it all is exhausting. Compound that with two parents that are educators and boys that play organized sports and this month has been a bit much.
The boys had a pro-d day today and after I did a presentation, I picked them up and we headed to Garry Point for a lunch out. On our way to our car, a flock of seagulls began to take the air and I called out "take cover" to the boys, but it was too late, Adam got hit! Darn those seagulls...did they not know that we were trying to get through September without unravelling. Luckily, Adam laughed it off.
My voice stayed with me which is a minor miracle.
Colin only got a little sick/cold and that didn't really slow him down.
Neil commented how tired he was, many many times but still managed to get up early and run, bike, do his thing to maintain his equilibrium.
Adam has coped by curling up on the couch afterschool for a little nap.
I think this whole month, we only had one evening when all of us were home and that happened again tonight. We made homemade pizza together when Neil got home from work...
and I said a little "thank you...we survived September!" to myself as we sat down together at the dinner table.

Congrats on surviving - we did too - although some days it looked doubtful!! Here's to a better paced October!
