Last year was the first year we formally celebrated Internatioanl S'mores Day (August 10). We had a gooey, sweet evening in the backyard with friends. See last year's post here!
This year we has some crazy coloured marshmallows out as part of the s'mores smorgasbord.
Adam tended to the fire and Colin helped entertain Sarah and Jack. We missed having Andrew here for his birthday but Sarah and Kyra represented the Loat family!
Colin made another one of his "gourmet plated smores"...
I didn't take many photos this year, it was nice to just sit back and enjoy the company of family and friends. When I did think about taking some, it was too dark!
Captain Canada (aka Adam Schwartz) was lurking in the trees though and I know he got lots of great shots ;) If he posts any, I'll add a link here!
Update: Lots of friends joined in on the celebrations this year. Here's some links to their blog posts!
the Schwartz family (Adam's photos included!)
the Hikida family (they made a solar oven to make smores in Kelowna!)
Jen B. (yummy smores dessert)
Jen H. (smores trail mix)
And yes, this is a real thing! There is a special day for everything...it was just national ice cream sandwich day last week and marshmallow roasting day is coming up on August 30th! It's just fun to celebrate the little things!
Happy International S'mores Day!

We so missed celebrating with you this year. In your honour, we made s'mores in a solar powered oven. Stay tuned for photos. You would have been so proud of our attempt to celebrate the day!!!!
