Friday was Adam's last day of school. He got his yearbook and had a fun afternoon at Sharkfest with his friends. Friday night a large group of his friends headed out for sushi and then back to a friend's house for birthday cake to celebrate one of the girls' birthday. It's still hard to fathom sometimes that we have a son going into grade 10!
On Saturday, the boys and I drove out to visit my parents and wish my dad a happy fathers' day. When we got home, we got busy making some fresh salsa and carmelized onions for Neil for fathers' day. Neil was out very late at his school's grad dinner, dance and dry grad after party so we had lots of time to get ready for a special fathers' day breakfast.
Sunday's breakfast was well appreciated by Neil and we actually found a new hot sauce (Nando's) that challenged Neil's love of heat!
Happy Fathers' Day to a man that is such a fine role model in so many ways to our boys!
The boys and I headed out to West Van for the afternoon to celebrate Duncan's birthday. The boys swam in the pool, jumped on the trampoline and enjoyed a lovely lunch and cupcakes by Ainsley!
One of the things we gave Duncan was a book on mini-weapons of mass destruction and is basically a manual on how to create fun little devices out of things from around the house. When my sister saw her kitchen table covered with "stuff" later in the afternoon, she commented that she could tell the Kamide boys had been there! Adam got some sort of pen launchers made for the boys and Duncan and Colin got a cool catapault put together.
We had a lovely dinner at the Boathouse with Neil's dad and brother to celebrate Fathers Day and then came home to play cards around the family room table.
Happy Fathers Day!
