Friday evening was rainy and drizzly and I was exhausted after a ridiculous week at work. Neil had a work event so the boys and I headed into Steveston for dinner at Diner 1. We've been meaning to try it out and the boys were very happy with their hamburgers and banana milkshakes.
Local strawberries are ripe and ready. Richmond strawberries are red all the way through and are beyond compare. Eating them fresh, freezing them for smoothies and baking them in oatmeal muffins all happened this weekend. Hopefully we'll get some strawberry picking in during the next week.
Neil ran the Scotia half-marathon on Sunday morning. He had perfect weather and a beautiful course and a time he was happy with.
I found this amazing creature in the backyard Sunday afternoon. He patiently waited for me while I took some photos ;)
The week ahead is going to be a very full and emotional one - lots of "lasts", lots of goodbyes, lots to do and lots to appreciate and enjoy.
