This weekend began with drinks (well, tea and coffee) out with two friends on Friday evening in Steveston. Two birthdays were being celebrated and we had fun sharing stories and getting caught up.
My sister sent me a package this week that had a container of Kona pancake mix in it. I whipped up some pancakes for breakfast on Saturday before we headed off to sushi and bowling for Adam's season end hockey party.
I had a great Sunday with full of treats and birthday wishes from friends and family. Another year around the sun....46 times now!
As a sports-loving mom, the highlight of the day was Adam's championship banner game. They were down 3-1 going into the third, came back and tied it 3-3 and then were leading 4-3 going into the last few minutes of the game before the other team tied it up at 4-4 to send us into overtime. Oh my, the tightened stomach and pacing that was involved watching this game! We pulled off the win and I was so happy for Adam and his team. I could't have asked for a better birthday present!
We had a lovely dinner out at Blue Canoe with Grandpa and Glenn before coming home for some birthday cake and to do some packing!
Thanks to Neil and the boys for such a thoughtful and special day. I'm looking forward to the two weeks of spring break ahead...a combination of some time to focus on writing and some important family time.
