As the winter sports season is coming to an end...every game counts! For both soccer and hockey, the boys' team are at the tops of their divisions and vying for playoff spots.
Colin had a Saturday morning game. When I called Neil to say I was on my way, it was 1-1. By the time I got there it was 2-1 for us. The final was 9-2 for us. Colin got a chance to play forward at the end of the game and was proud to get three assists. He liked playing forward but on the drive home he commented that his instincts had him keep running back on defense. Midfield is really the ideal place for him.
Adam's team had three games this weekend...all were important. Adam missed three days of school this past week. He's never missed that many days of school ever. In all his 10 years of school, his total days absent was less than three days, until this week. He made it to school on Friday but just couldn't play Friday night. His team managed a tie. On Saturday, he took a Tylenol cold and was off to his game. It was a back and forth game and let's just say, the opposing team's parents weren't handling it all very well. The children were better behaved than their adults. fortunately, Adam scored the game-winning goal for his team and they won 3-2.
He had another game Sunday night at the Agrodome. Neil just called, they lost 2-1 which makes it a 1-1-1 weekend.
After some time at home, homework and house stuff, I headed downtown on the Canada Line Saturday night with some friends to see the movie, The Vow. Downtown Vancouver is so alive at night...it was energizing to be out and about. The movie is based on a true story which really made me think. My friends and I chatted about the movie over Pink Praline hot chocolate at Thierry Patisserie which is another Hot Chocolate Festival location.
Sunday was a regular Sunday for us...
guitar lesson, check
grocery shopping, check
laundry put away, check
weekly baking done, check
family dinner, check
down time to read, check
We also went out for lunch together to Terra Breads in Kits. It's the first time Neil has joined for a hot chocolate trip. I had the very yummy Chai Hot Chocolate and Adam had a regular Milk Chocolate. We loved the design on Adam's and the boys will experimenting with that this week, I'm sure!
