Eleven pictures to capture our day on the eleventh day of the eleventh month during 2011.
Dried cherry scones for breakfast.
What we were doing at 11:11am?
I was on Pinterest, Neil was visiting his dad, Adam was reading the newspaper and Colin was playing videogames.
And here is Colin, our 11 year old at 11:11am on 11-11-11. That blanket is the "coziest" he says, and is usually wrapped around him when he sits on the couch.
Sarah and I went for a long walk in the sun and enjoyed the autumn colours.
When Adam and Neil headed out to a hockey game (that later got cancelled because of a power outage), Colin and I went to City Hall to see the cenotaph.
While we were there the wind really picked up. Leaves were swirling all around us and Colin grabbed one to leave at the memorial. So him.
As we drove home, it felt like we were in a snowglobe with leaves swirling all around us. I opened the window to take a picture at a red light and the leaves rushed in. Crazy.
Colin seized the opportunity to rake up a big leaf pile and of course, jump in it!
The boys called their cousin Owen in Philadelphia to wish him a happy birthday and then after dinner, our power flicked on and off three different times, just for a short time though. We got out our flashlights and candles to be ready for a power outage because of the wind and sure enough, just after 7, it went out and stayed out.
We played some board games by candlelight and then Neil listened to the Canucks game on the radio and the boys busied themselves playing with fire and wax and making candles and torches.
The night sky was amazing with clouds moving so quickly and a full moon lighting up our backyard.
So 11-11-11 will be a memorable day around here for many reasons!
