I made some treats for my colleagues at the school I work at to celebrate the first day of school and of course saved a couple for my boys too! When I saw the detailed tutorial for these cute apple cookie pops HERE, I knew I had to make them. Something different than my usual cookies, cake pops or cupcakes.
I used the molds from Spinning Leaf, Wilton red candy melts, Doublestuff Golden Oreos, thin pretzels and Warheads candy cut and molded into leaves.
I did order the cookie molds over the summer, but I have seen these made elsewhere with success by just spooning the melted candy coating over the cookies and letting them set on a piece of parchment paper. I tried a couple to just to see how that went! Adam and I agreed that they don't look quite as polished and pro but do look more apple-y and were actually far less time-consuming to make!
So welcome back to school to all my educator friends!
