No, the pressure of writing has not turned me to alcohol! This afternoon I sat out the deck reading some heavy academic stuff and enjoyed an iced banana daiquiri organic tea sweetened with a little coconut flavoured agave nectar. Gosh it was good.
I am usually a diet coke girl, pretty much 24/7. During the winter I do enjoy a Starbucks chai tea latte or some lady grey tea on a rainy day at home but my sister introduced me to Davids Tea this summer and I have expanded my drink repertoire immensely. I have a new little collection on the kitchen counter. The fun packaging, clever names of the tea, etc doesn't help my tea obsession at all!
Yesterday I had the iced "luscious watermelon" with some honey which was so good. I love that you can actually see the dried pieces of fruit in the tea as it is brewing away. My new summer drink treat!
In other news, Adam took two private swim lessons and passed his level. The elementary backstroke was giving him a bit of a problem ;) It was a bit dicey because Colin passed his level last week which meant they were in the same swim level for a few days!
The boys have had some heavy restrictions placed on their video game playing this summer which I think is helping them appreciate it a little more. The other evening, Adam came out of the family room beaming and when I asked him what was up, he said, "I'm proud of my virtual achievements!" Geesh, who knows what he achieved! Last night Colin came into our room about 1am holding a tooth with a mouth full of blood. It had been loose but I'm not quite sure how it came out on its own in the middle of the night. Colin held it out to me and said, "I'm a little sad...I really liked that tooth!" I guess when I tooth has been with you all your life, you get a little attached!
The garden has been a bit hit and miss this summer...but we do have blueberries ripening nicely.
